Greens fast and hold
Greens were in great shape. Rolled true and held when you we t in high.
Haven't played here in a few years and it was in great shape
Impressed
Haven't played Forest City National in about 5 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. Course was in great shape, Pace of play was great which was one of the reasons I haven't played there in so long.
layout
freak out property
great variety of holes
green and fairways on the dry side so golf ball was moving
Too bad
The course is very nice. I enjoy the layout and the fairways are firm by receptive. The greens are hard and fast but soft enough to take some spin. Unfortunately that mean nothing when you have to wait 10-15 minutes on every hole. The lack of a visible Marshall allowed the group in front of us to play multiple balls, search in the woods and rough with no regard to the twosome on the tee that was clearly playing much faster. It's sad when such a beautiful Course permits this action and doesn't even offer compensation when it was brought to their attention.
Greens rock hard
Challenging course, great layout, needs some TLC. Frustrated by rock hard greens that would not stick - ever!
A Great challenge
Course overall was in good shape but the few bunkers we were in had no sand. Some tee blocks are pretty worn down too. Greens were nice but shaggy. Great course just showing its age at times.
Poor conditions
Fairways were long and looked uncut for a few days, greens were long and uncut for the day, we played in the afternoon. Greens were slow, premium course in poor conditions.
Pace of play horrible!
Had a 2:38 tee time. Starters said there's a large group on #1, to go play the back nine as it would be a quicker round. Well, it was a 6 hour day. Add in no beverage cart and so add some salt to the rim of the glass, we wanted to enjoy a meal in the club house and it closed at 7:00pm. Enjoyed the beautiful day, the slow round sure wasn't conducive to scoring well.
Not what it used to be
Have been playing here for 20 + years. It was nice to see the greens in outstanding shape as well as good fairways. Once again my problem with this coarse is the sand. We teed off @ 11;30 and not one bunker was groomed. We refused to play out of any on the front nine. On the back nine it appeared one greenside biunker was actually playable - or so we thought. Not 1/2 inch of sand depth wise. If the sand was even OK I would give it 4 stars - instead it gets a 3.
One of the best courses in London
If you are looking for a great round of golf at a public course in London Forest City National is a great choice.
A fantastic layout that is both challenging and fair.
Pace of play can sometimes be an issue when they are busy but get out early and you are usually fine.
The risk/reward of hole 15 is on of the best around.
Top 2 public course in the London area no doubt.
Still one of the best in Southern Ontario
Each time I play Forest City, I ask myself why I don't play this more! From the quality of the carts (GPS is accurate) to the amazing conditions of the golf course, it never fails to impress me.
My wife and I were able to play as a twosome on a Sunday afternoon which made her feel better (she is not a strong golfer). Less than 4 hours later we completed our round. I can't wait to play there again.
College Buds Reunion
After playing Forest City for the first time, the college buds, we'll be back to Forest City real soon! Great!
