Lakeside Golf Club
About
Named after the bordering lake that the course overlooks, Lakeside Golf Club takes full advantage of the natural landscape of rolling hills and live oaks. Water comes into play on nearly every hole on the course. Streams and dry creek beds dot the course, creating challenges on several holes. The golf course also features undulating greens and narrow landing areas. Designed to provide a formidable test for any golfer, Lakeside Golf Club demands accuracy in addition to careful strategy. One of the most notable difficult holes on the golf course is the par-5 12th, which requires an approach shot over water to a well bunkered green.

Great Course
Took my wife and son for 18 holes. Loved the course. there was no pressure, not many people playing for a Saturday. We had no one in front of us for three holes and no one behind us for about 4 holes... The staff was extremely friendly and the food was good! Nice carts, greens were in good shape, fairways were nice.
Had a wonderful time and cant wait to come back.
needs a lot of maintenance on fairways and greens!
Not maintained at all. Play as a last resort. If you want to practice, work on your skills, or it is a convient location then it will do. I think it is OVERPRICED but that is just a personal opinion.
Decent course, horrendous staff
Decent course for a hot deal tee time but worth nothing more. The staff was terrible, I walked into the pro shop only to be greeted by the cook from the grille... The man working in the pro shop provided terrible service and was very unfriendly.
The only reason I play this golf course is due to the fact that I only have to spend a matter of minutes in the pro shop before getting out on the course.
Not Worth the Drive from San Antonio
We played this course for first and last time. Not worth the drive from Helotes, but fees were cheap. There was no course management and residents from around the course just squeezed in whenever and wherever they wanted, disrupting the speed of play. We didn't play our full 18 because of the wait. No GPS on carts, map of course not available, fairways were in bad shape, course not adequately marked for distance, lots of dirt/rocks and bunkers had grass growing in them.
First Time to Play
Had a good time, played from black tees, very fun course. Hope they get alcohol license soon! Will play again.
Great Value
Great course layout, hard from the tips. I was wondering why I scored so badly until i looked at the rating and slope. fairways were in winter condition so not fair to say anything negative. Greens in superb shape, firm and has some speed, tough to read, a real challenge. I only spent $15 on the tee time and if far exceeded my expectations.
Decent conditions
This course is never in good shape but it was in decent shape compared to a lot of the courses in the area. Greens were very solid but there was no grass to chip off of. So forget about getting up and down
Cannon Lake
Course is getting in a lot better shape. The greens are in good shape and challenging. Dont go right after a heavy rain as there is still issues with drainage. The staff is excellent and freindly, not much for a golf shop but can by a sleeve of balls without a 75% mark up.
Excellent value!
This is a very nice course layout in the beautiful Texas Hill Country with views of Canyon Lake. The greens are in very good shape. Some of the greens (11th and 14th specifically) are extremely sloped - locate pin placement before your approach shot to minimize your chance of a 3 or 4 putt!
lakeside is a scenic course
course is always fun to play. challenging and interesting layout. it is in good shape.
Trying to keep up with my nephew
The course was in pretty good shape, except for some standing water. Greens were very slow, most likely due to the recent rains.
Solid course with great views
Great course for the money paid. Overseeded greens makes this course a must play over the winter. Overlooking canyon lake, these views are worth far more than the 10 dollar I payed to play here. Friendly staff and a nice clubhouse. Will play again.
Greens have really improved
Course is great for the cost. Greens have really improved since I last played. They were in great condition.
Great greens
Fairways are terrible, greens are actually very good. I love the corse because the course has a great layout so I just tolerate the fairways. Fun place to play.
bad weather-styed open
I was going to play by the prediction of the weather-man. It turned out to be 16 degrees colder and an all day light rain. tried to get a refund but couldn't because the course stayed open even though there were only three cars were in the lot and probably 2 were from the workers. That's life.
Worth $10, Not More
Friendly staff and lots of wildlife. Fairways and greens fair to poor. The drought apparently really took its toll. Worth every penny of the $10 GolfNow fee... But not a penny more.
lakeside
greens needed rolling and mowing, for what I paid it was good to get out
Great rate, friendly staff, but poor course conditions
This was my first time playing the course and I had mixed feelings. I received an excellent price via Golf Now and everyone I encountered was very nice Unfortunately, despite a nice layout/design, the course really wasn't in very good condition. It has potential, but needs a lot of TLC.
Nice course for a getaway
Excellent staff and great course for a getaway. Lots of deer if you like wildlife.
Shot Makers Course
Great value for the money. Shot Makers Course. Need to hit good tee shots to clear doglegs to launch to the green.
