wet
This is a great venue! In peak season, probably one of the best in the Knoxville and surrounding counties. Unfortunately today, it was very wet and nearly unplayable. I appreciate them letting us play, but the fairways were absolutely saturated with water. Will definitely go back on a drier day.
Impressive
Very nice course. $49 was a little steep for fall. We enjoyed it nonetheless.
River runs through it...
Great layout ..played the rivercourse that also winds up for four holes through the hills. Buy the course book for 5 bucks if you have never played before...a number of holes have water that isn't apparent from the tee box. Greens are very fast...14+ on the stimpmeter...and hard. Will play again when next in the area.
River Course
Excellent course.......friendly staff.....I look forward to my next round on this beautiful scenic course
Wide Open Course, Fun to Play
I am a 69 year old, 12 handicap. I played the Green tees at the River Course. The Green Course setup is a little over 6,000 yards, course rating 69.6 and a slope of 119. This means the Green tees may be a bit long for some Seniors.
This course is obviously set up for tourists because it is wide open with no real problems. There is lots of water and a number of bunkers, but, in my opinion, you really have to hit it short or really crooked to get in trouble. The fairways were well manicured. It was easy to pinch a wedge off the fairways. The greens appeared to have been aerated perhaps a week previously, but they were relatively smooth, held well, and rolled true.
My only problem was, on several occasions, trying to find the next tee box because signage was non-existant.
Great golf coarse
One of the best coarses I have played . Fairways were perfect, greens were really fast and approach shots held great. I played the river coarse. Everything was new golf carts new club house. This coarse is well worth the money
awesome course in Sevierville, TN
This course is extremely pretty with a lot of beautiful scenery, water and challenging holes. It's hard to get upset putting a ball or two in the water on such a great course. What a great find during our vacation to TN.
Amazing course
Amazing layout beautiful course greens rolled great. More important to hit fairway vs hitting it long not much room for error on the river course great place to play. If your looking for a challenge or a different style of course this will test you
Very nice course
We played the day of the State Senior Women's Amatuer and the course was immaculate. The fairways are exceptional and the greens were profeasional grade.
The layout of the River Course is scenic and with the water features on nearly every hole, makes it challenging but not gimmicky.
My wife is a high handicapper and she enjoyed the course. With the multiple tees available , I believe any level player will enjoy it as well.
The only negative is that the course plays all 18 holes away from the clubhouse. There wasn't any cart service the day we played. Be sure to take your drinks with you. There is a nice restroom on the backside of the course.
Overall, one of the best courses in the area. Very classy.
Super facility
Very accommodating staff. Friendly and helpful. Resort style practice facility. Nice range and two putting greens.
Beautiful and challenging layout for 18 holes. Breathtaking views with challenging shot requirements. Good risk/ reward opportunities. Choosing the appropriate tee/yardage will make for a much more enjoyable experience.
Ranger patrols are obvious yet subdued therefore pace of play was excellent for a resort course!
I will play here again whenever in this area!
Stay away from the rough
Mostly wide fairways but outside that you can find trouble. The staff will provide a memorable playing experience that you will want to return again and again.
Very nice course
course is in real good shape. We enjoyed the open fairways and the greens were in good shape. Staff was very professional.
Great place to play
I play a lot of golf and the River course is a great place to play. We were the first group off and the starter got us off right at 7:30 even though maintenance forgot to call and tell him it was ok to go. Speaking of we were never held up once by the maintenance staff. Facilities and course we're in great shape. We had to be cart path only because of heavy rains the night before but I didn't mind because it kept the fairways like carpet. Excellent conditions tee to green. From the looks of the parking lot the course gets a lot of play and the greens were in excellent shape with very few pitch marks. I played the black tees (7120). It plays like a resort course with wide fairways with generous landing areas. The course plays fair to all levels as the other three in our group played the green tees and seemed to really enjoy their round as well. When you cross the road for holes 11-15 it seems like you are on a completely different course as it goes from flat to large hills and valleys. Enjoyable to break up the flatness of the other holes. I would absolutely recommend this course to all skill levels. They have plenty of tee options. Easy for the high handicapper yet challenging enough for the low handicapper.
Good course for the money
Flat course. Recently sodded in some areas.
No snack shack at the turn. Thankful we played with someone who played course before since he told us about no snack shack.
Fantastic golf.
Beautiful course. Grass was perfect other than a few recently sodded areas. Greens keepers are top notch. Fairways were perfect. Even after several inches of rain over the last week the course drains well. Very challenging but with many wide open fairways. A course range book would have been helpful. A few blind tee shots could be played better with some heads up. Over all. Awesome course and afternoon rates are cheap. It's a 80-100$ course easy.
Excellent course
I played River course this week end.
It is very good condition fairway and green.
Cart has club and ball cleaning box and cooler box with ice. It was so helpful for player.
The course require strategic play.
I played green tee so little bit easier but blue tee is so tough.
Anyway, This course is very good and which I want to play many times.
nice course
Sweet course......good shape, greens recently aerated so thy were so so shape
5 1/2 hour round
Had to book this last minute. Waited on every tee box, fairway. Very slow and no ranger/marshall to keep players moving.
Water and rough
This links type course was fun to play. There's water on nearly every hole and the holes without water have deep rough bordering the fairway. It was still early spring and the Bermuda fairways were still brown, but thick. The greens were in pretty good shape. If you get a chance, play once without a score and learn the course. The second time around will be much better.
18 holes of fun
This was a fun course with several challenging holes.
