Raccoon Creek Golf Course
About
The Raccoon Creek Golf Course is a public, 18-hole golf course in Littleton. It covers 7,045 yards from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. The course has some difficult elements, such as elevation changes, but it is still beginner-friendly. Water hazards come into play on seventeen holes. The most difficult hole of the course, one of the most difficult in Colorado according to the Colorado Golf Associates, is the par-3 17th hole. The hole runs alongside a creek, the creek that the course is named after, and requires a shot over a portion of it to a very well protected green.

Awful customer service
Pro shop was so rude especially Kirk hon. Kirk hon was the rudest pro shop dude I’ve ever spoken to. Has no respect for his customers and even went as far as calling me a scammer. Dude should not be allowed to be in customer service.
Staff was unfriendly
Kirk hon was the rudest pro shop staff I’ve ever talked to. Very unfriendly and wouldn’t even let my buddy ride with me without paying 30$ for a cart fee. Wouldn’t play this course if it was the last course in Colorado to play and was free and came with a set of Taylor made clubs.
Spend your money elsewhere
Kirk hon is the rudest pro I’ve ever spoken to or pro shop manager because I couldn’t imagine him being a pro. Course is nice but Kirk hon is the reason people don’t play this course more than once. Rudest customer service ever, when that’s what he’s supposed to be best at. Not worth the money even if it was free.
Great but also not
This course has a fun layout and is in great shape but we played on a 90 degree afternoon and didn’t see the drink cart after the 3rd hole and there is zero water available around the course. Bring 3 gallons of your own water or get severe dehydration like we did. Kind of a bummer.
Good course as long as they know you pre paid
Booked my round through GolfNow - Had to prepay for the entire round.
Get to the course, the pro shop tells me that I owe an additional 80. I tell them that I pre paid and they say no I did not
After searching for my confirmation email from GolfNow - they then state that they charge a different cost for a round on the weekends.
I state I am not paying anything additional, and after 5 minutes of debating among the staff they decide to let me play.
Then they state I have to share a cart with a stranger - no worries about COVID at all.
Be careful when booking your round through a 3rd party site.
I am happy with Raccoon now after losing excitement about it recently
I started to get the Raccoon pass 10+ years ago and this is the place where I got better after hacking for 3+ decades. Guys like Don Graham, Pait Tait and many other made this place fun to be at and it is for sure a good course and as this is a course rating, for the course alone it is a 4-5 for sure. But....in recent year, there seemed to be a lineup of old ornery guys(I am 59 so I can say this) working at the course. Some I have known for a while and they are great, others not so much and the latter have made the customer service there less than optimal at times. We were having a great round, then we ran into one of the angry ones and was about to quit on Raccoon (one of my guys who was there for the first time was about to leave at the turn) but, had a good chat with Don and my faith in this place is restored and I am sure he will help elevate the customer experience further. Suggestions
1) - If I book on GolfNow, make sure the desk folks know that if it is a regular booking (Not a hotdeal) that I likely will be using a pass. When my guest comes, don't make him pay full rack when he has told you already he will be a guest on a pass and politely tell him to wait until the passholder arrives to be sure. If the passholder does not show, by all means rack rate!
2) - You really do need water on the course to drink
3) - I like good rangers that keep the pace of play going! Much better than courses that do not manage pace at all but, just a bit more awareness of customer interactions would be good.
I/we will be back and I trust guys like Don to keep this place going forward.
