Course is great. Sand is better than average. Layout and course in beautiful and worth the drive out!
First time playing Charleston Pines
Grabbed a great deal on Golf Now for Charleston Pines in Lima, NY. First time playing here and the course did not disappoint. Very well maintained. Greens were faster than we were use to but very fair. Holes were not too difficult and we were glad we got a cart. Distance between some holes would be tough for walking unless you're young and in good shape. Overall: Loved this course. Will be back for sure. Two thumbs up!
Charlston Golf Course, Lima , NY
Got to course 5 minutes prior to T time, signed in, grabbed our clubs and were off !! Greens were in very good shape and some what fast. Fairways were cut to a good length and no one lost their ball on a good shot. (Hate losing ball on fairways that are not cut enough ). Wish the snack bar near 10th hole had been open for a hot dog and drink, seeings how we teed off at noon, but that was ok.
Had great time and the price of $18 for 18 holes w/cart can't be beat !!
Hidden Gem
Great course, didn't wait on the tee box once the entire round, pace of play was great!
We payed $20 for 18 with a cart, it was the best deal on any course this summer on the golfnow app.
I will be back 4-5 times a year moving forward even though I am a member at 2 other courses, it worth it!
Great greens.
These greens at Charleston pines are not undulating but very true and fast. A medium difficulty and yardage makes it very playable for most players.
The Island oaks side is more peaks and valleys. A more difficult layout, the greens are true just not as fast. A worthy test if either are your choice.
Relaxing round of golf
Some days you just want a nice fair course to play. This is it!! Great greens but not crazy frustrating greens. Course in nice shape. Not too crowded. Don't loose many balls. Shooting for pars even if you miss fairway since rough is not crazy and you can scramble to recover.
Course
This isn't Oak Hill or something like that, but the course was in great condition for the wild weather we've had in early 2017. The people running and maintaining this course really know what they are doing.

Great Value With Discounted Price
COURSE:
Great golf course as long as you are paying a discounted rate and I based my ratings on the discounted price
Nice layout and greens were in very good condition, but cart paths are in poor condition
Great finishing hole
SERVICE:
The owner (John) was not very friendly or helpful on all three times I have played the course - I asked the other three players in my group and they had the same reaction - Instead of trying to help the customers, I believe he views them as a nuisance
OVERALL:
Great value at discounted price, but just average if paying full price

Fun course
Challenging but not overwhelming. Greens were accurate. Over all conditions were great considering the lack of rain in the area.

Charleston Pines Played Again
I had not played the course for 10 years and since the layout was changed. Was pleasantly surprised and had 3 hour round passing a couple of groups. Was in good shape for the dry conditions in NYS this summer. Will go back.

Fun gem in Lima
Did a hot deal on golfnow and was very impressed with this course. Though it is exceptionally dry here and were in the midst of the worst drought in many years the course was still in playable condition and the greens and bunkers were very well prepared and groomed so they werent rock hard like many in the area are currently. Charleston Pines was a fun layout there were some interesting shots and layouts as we progressed our rd. We finished in under 3 hrs today as me and my friend are faster golfers and the 4some in front let us through. Staff was friendly and we joked around with a couple of them briefly. I would definetly go back and would love to play the course once we get some rainfall again in the area. I shot a 95 friend a 94. Both pleased overall

a great find
first time to play course and was very impressed. even with all the dry weather the greens were in great shape. fairways were dry, but still playable. nice layout and wide fairways. course maintenance is excellent. plan on going back often.

pro shop guy was poor wanted us to play in a foursoom we did not and glad about that we played as a twosome and played in 3 hours

Lima
Course condition has deteriorated....layout has been chopped up too much. Time to pave the driveway and paint the sign! Great clubhouse....greens still hold promise as some of best around (time to fix #9 though).
