One of the few courses that I drive to 3-4 a year within 45 mins of my home. The staff is always super nice and the course is in great shape most of the time. Right now conditions are good and will give you a good test and a fun day. Tee sheet was pretty filled but we went through the course in a little over 3 hrs. If it has been raining alot there are some soft spots but the crew does a great job of keeping the course open & playable so rarely see a "cart path only" day. Stay on course gentlemen!

Been trying out a lot of new courses over the past 6 months with some good & some bad results. New Smyrna GC earns A's all around the board. Was greeted by a very vibrant and upbeat woman who was a delight to talk to and allowed me to go out early with the threat of rain in the area. Once on the course everything about it was great. Best tee boxes I have seen this year and fairways, although thin in rare spots, played beautifully. Greens looked like they may have been punched a month ago but rolled nicely and were very tricky. Pace was great as I finished in under 3 hrs. & I'm a deliberate golfer. Finished the round with a delightful meal at the pizzeria which was on the premise. Great day and will return with some friends. Thank you to all of you!

Tough review because I've always enjoyed driving down to Martin Downs and even brought a friend for a first time visit. After bragging how much he would enjoy playing here I had to eat "crow" when we saw how much the conditions have deteriorated. Don't know if it's because of the virus or what but the course was in sad shape. Tee boxes beat and uneven, fairways thin and, in certain spots, unplayable. Sand traps had dirt instead of sand and greens still showed signs of recent aerification with bumps and bare spots. At first we were asked roughly about the mini coolers we were bringing with us on the carts. He asked and questioned after our initial response if there was anything else beside the waters we said we needed. My friend said they could check as he also had a Gatorade as he was a diabetic. Most courses now are allowing coolers on he carts without question because they have taken the water away on the course. Wish I could say good things about the staff but the starter/ranger but he followed us around 'hiding behind obstacles" and pointing out that my friend was too close with the cart to the out of bounds stake (not past it) and I had on of my cart tires on the grass on one hole instead of the whole cart on the run down path. Call a cop! Surprising to say that this never happened before at MD. It wasn't as if they were crowded and he needed to keep the pace of play going. All in all a very disappointing day on a course that still has a great layout but conditions prevent you from enjoying it.

Decided to take a little bit of a ride and check out Swiss Fairways. I'm glad I did. Now don't get me wrong, if you are looking for immaculate conditions this is not the course for you. A little rough all the way around but the greens rolled true and the layout was really a joy to challenge. Front played a little shorter than the card but don't know if that was a daily occurrence or they've done that because of the amount of seniors I saw playing. As mentioned the motor boats pulling the skiers on some holes really gave it some unique features. With Sanctuary Ridge on the downside and Kings Ridge only ok, in my opinion, I'd say this is the place to play around the Clermont area. I've spread the word to some buddies of mine and will take another ride over in a month or two. You should also.

I realize this review is different from most reviews I give but circumstances are so much different nowadays. Eaglebrooke takes precautions but also leaves a lot up to the individual to use his/her common sense. Pins are left in but advise not to pull. If you do,as I like to, I used a protective glove. Cups have inserts so ball never goes to the bottom of the cup. Rakes left in traps so IF you want to rake beautiful traps you can at your discretion. Water machine up front is still working with ice & water so ,again, if you want to use they supply cups (not providing cold water on Florida courses in this heat will kill more golfers than any virus!) Playing as a single had my own cart and starter let me go early as there was plenty of space between groups. Great staff!!! Plenty of workers still on the course working hard to keep conditions perfect. Course conditions were excellent, as usual. Great course. Now all my friends think I'm insane for driving sometimes 2 hrs to play a course so that is why I fly solo most of the time. THIS COURSE is worth every minute of that drive. If it were closer I would play 5-6 times a year. As it is I'm already looking forward to a trip back in a month or two. Great job & kudos to all

On my way up to Georgia I stopped in at MP for a round after very favorable reviews. Course was in great shape but the reviews about the greens being slow were accurate. I was initially paired with a very nice couple of gentlemen who knew the course and were very pleased to share information as we started. The only problem I had was that they insisted on speed golf and wanted to finish course in a couple of hours. That might be good for everyone but not my cup of tea so I told them to go on without me and played on my own. Not knowing the course I did eventually let a couple of 2-somes pass me but we all were delayed in the back and we forced to wait midway thru the back 9. As for the course it was in good shape and I fully enjoyed my round here. Highly recommended

Everyone who reviews these course do so on a personal basis. I do follow them but sometimes have to judge for myself. Going back to Eastwood I was pessimistic but found the course not as bad as some reviews. Love that the course wasn't crowded as most that I have visited are this time of year. Some tee boxes were in rough shape but I could find a decent area to use. Fairways weren't as bad as some of the more "better reviewed" courses although there were plenty of weeds on most of them. Greens were the best aspect of the course although far from perfect. Still, most putts were unaffected by some dry spots and ran decent. All in all I enjoyed the round and recommend this course for anyone looking to get in a good round at a decent course. It's not Shingle Creek or LPGA but it doesn't carry the price tag either. Depending on what you want from a course you can take this review at your discretion.

With so many courses full this time of year it was a comforting & pleasant surprise to get a decent tee time at OL. I just played there a couple of months ago so wasn't looking to return on that 1 3/4 hr trip but the course never lets me down so I couldn't pass it up. Once more conditions were excellent,staff was great and the weather was the best in over a month. Take a ride out to Legends and enjoy all that they offer. Golf in Florida,in the winter, isn't much better than this.

This course is one of the closer ones that I play from time to time. Played yesterday and was very disappointed in the course conditions. The layout is enjoyable and some holes are challenging. Some tee boxes were perfect (maybe 4/18) but most are crowned or chewed up. The fairways, which have been decent in the past,were poor, with lots of bare spots and very little grass to hit off of. The greens were spotty and had sections where the grass was bare or very bumpy. Overall the course was not in the shape I expected for this time of year or that I have played in the past. Think I'll wait to hear from more golfers before playing in the future.

Having played MD in the past and charting all my past rounds I had mixed reviews for the 3-4 times I played here. Years ago I was very pleased with the course and noted so. My most recent play there was in 2016 and it was my last because of the bad shape the course was in. You don't need to pay a high price to be disappointed with course conditions but that was the case on that day. I did follow the reviews and decided to give it another try yesterday. Let me say everything was vastly improved. The layout was always fun and challenging. This course is different than most in this area. I love it. Conditions, though not perfect, were very good despite some nasty weather. You could see workers all over working on course conditions and it showed. Fairways and greens were very good and tee boxes were sufficient. Was teamed up with a couple of real nice guys which produced an enjoyable round. Excellent customer care inside and out. The only problem we experienced was slow play of the group in front of us (caught up to them around hole 5-6) which made the round 1/2 hr-45 mins longer than it needed to be. Standing on a tee box in the light rain isn't much fun. We were sort of double delayed with a slow couple in front of us and a extremely slow 4 some in front of them. This can be a recurring problem at resort golf courses which, frankly I don't understand. Look around you and you can judge the speed and tempo of your round. Way to many golfers who don't care about others. We say a ranger but it was early. That said I will return to play MD in the future and kudos to all for the hard work put into improving the conditions. Happy New year!

To be perfectly honest I never have had a bad experience at LPGA. More courses are in great shape and the staff, from the gents who meet you at the bag drop to check in to starter treat you respectfully and are first class. The thing I like about this course is they don't force you into a cart with someone else ,if you're a single, even if the course is crowded. They try to get you out,if possible, even if you are early for your tee time. Nothing and no one at this course is gruff, rude or whatever you want to call it. The course, for this review, it's Jones is in great shape and I don't mind the near hr & the half ride. Great experience and fun golf.

Having never played Eagle Dunes and knowing that it would be a long drive and longer day I read the past reviews with some interest. As I do agree with most of the reviews regarding the ruts in the course I fully enjoyed my experience and would fully recommend this course to all golfers interested in a fun day of golf. The elevation changes were a nice change of pace and the course was in great shape. The challenge would be navigating your golf cart in and around the numerous ruts in the fairways. My advice, just slow down and pay attention to the "road". They really didn't have much effect on the shots as the fairways were in good shape and the greens, although very quick, were receptive to your approach shots and ran true. The staff was great from desk to starter. They could have used a ranger on the course as we were a twosome stuck behind a very slow and ball hawking foursome. I guess this poor golf etiquette will never change with some people. It probably cost us 45 mins-hour extra time on our round and got us home after dark. Not appreciated. Go enjoy Eagle Dunes as I will gather some of my buddies and make the trip back there in the future.

Ok, I get it. All courses have to have policies and rules they make and stick to them. It doesn't mean I have to agree with them. Lady Lake is a beautiful course and highly recommended for plush conditions and a challenging layout. My issue is the policy of pairing up singles in one cart. The starter stated this was a course policy and , in my opinion makes zero sense. There were plenty of carts available and no leagues or anything behind us to require a lot of carts. There were locations on the course that required no carts due to wet conditions. Fine, all carts should obey these rules. Playing as a single I was paired up with a pleasant gentleman and joined a twosome for an enjoyable day of conversation & golf. The problem is that we rarely were in the same spot after our shots. While mine stayed near the fairway my partner had some problems spraying the ball from time to time. This took us in different directions AND increased our playing time. As a result the group behind us had to wait numerous times. With 3 carts we would have moved a lot faster and kept up the pace. In the winter when the course is booked solid I can understand this policy. On a day and time when the course was only semi-busy this made no sense. I realize this review will not change anything but it's something we, as players, should be aware of.

If Celebration was close to me, in my world that's within 45 mins., I'd play this course 6-7 times a year. Always an enjoyable time as the staff is super friendly and the course is always in good shape. That said there are a few courses where the fairways are absolute carpets and this course, at this time, isn't one of them. BUT their fairways are well maintained and extremely player friendly. In other words no complaints here. There was something going on with some weird designs that looked like burnouts or something in some spots but I didn't bother to ask and it had no effect on my game. Boxes, greens in great shape. If you are from out of town or just visiting the area you'll never go wrong with a golf trip to this course. Always a pleasure and a round I look forward to traveling to.

For someone who has shared course reviews for many years a visit to Club Med-Sandpiper Bay presented a very difficult dilemma. First the good and the staff was very good. Super friendly and we shared a few laughs. There were workers all over the course trying to improve the conditions which weren't that bad. Tee boxes were decent & that is a big plus in my book. Level and enough turf to get a good start off your hole.
Now we come to the not so good. In talking with the pro shop before taking the hour + ride south I was informed that they had some rain over the weekend but nothing major. Playing the course there were no standing puddles or anything to suggest otherwise. The point I'm coming to is why in the world did they have to soak the fairways (and 50% of the greens) with an enormous amount of water from the sprinklers. 3-4 holes I had to take a fairway shot with the sprinklers soaking me down as I shot. I needed to keep 7-10 balls handy to play a dry, clean ball when I could. NO ball washers anywhere on the course. I was fortunate not to lose any balls but found 3-4 in the middle of a fairway where they were plugged. I'm not a long hitter anyway so not getting any roll due to saturated conditions really killed my game. There also were times where one shot was fairly dry and the next plugged and muddy. I'm no superintendent but why can't you water a course after hours or at the very least when there is down time. Mid day is not the time to be wetting your players (which there weren't many of). One other area of concern was the extremely slow condition of the greens. A couple of times I wanted to put with a low iron to get a decent roll. Layout is good and the fairways were decent and in good shape IF you could get a good shot.
If I had to give a grade I would give a C and possibly others have enjoyed their round if conditions were favorable. I could see how that would happen. The Club Med grounds are older and showing some serious age. I won't be back there for some time as there are so many beautiful courses in the area that provide such a better experience. Sorry staff, wish I could have given a more favorable review.

My memory being what it is, I do believe I played this course a very long time ago but,for argument sake, I'll review it like new. First class all the way with a friendly staff and real nice golf course to go with it. Fairways and greens in very good shape and the layout was a challenge indeed. The thing that impressed me was a working BALL WASHER on EVERY HOLE!!!!! I don't remember the last time I played with this being true. Workers keeping the course conditions in excellent shape. Being a traveling golfer I found another course, not too far from me, that I will return to in the future and take some friends with me. Thank you Meadowood!

FC was the 1st of 3 golf outings on my vacation up to the Williamsburg area and what a start! From the moment we arrived we were treated terrifically. The view from the opening tee on Blackheath was beautiful and a bit intimidating and it was the first of many. Course in great shape with lots of variety and although the course was fairly booked up pace wasn't bad. Greens were quick but rolled true. Fairways were flawless. Highly recommend for anyone visiting and my only regret is that the course is 5 states away. Thank you Ford's Colony.

I ran into a few problems on the long ride down but staff was very cordial and had no problems getting out later than tee time. For a first time player I ran into some trouble hitting into spots that I thought were safe. A map of holes would have been nice. A little confusing navigating around as markings weren't real clear until you were on top of hole. As for the course in great shape and the tricky wind made for some tough shots. I found course quite tight but that could be because of the unfamiliarity of the course. Highly recommended for an enjoyable round with very friendly staff. Thank you

Excellent customer care from check-in to cart attendants. Course has a great layout with numerous different looks, from long & short holes to straight and dogleg designs. Course in great shape with only some weeds showing up in some fairways. That being said I saw numerous workers spraying those weeds so I'm sure that this was just a temporary problem. Highly recommend this course for an overall great experience.Kudos to all

Been wanting to play Old Corkscrew for many years but my brother-in-law moved from the area and I only get over to that side 1-2 a year,at best. One time was rained out and last year there was green aeirification. Anyhow, having played a week ago I can enthusiastically say that the wait was well worth it. Course, service & game was fantastic. Beautiful course, a Nicklaus challenging layout & great service. It certainly will be the # 1 course I look for on my visits to the west coast. Highly recommended. Thank you OC!!!
