Lake Arlington

This course has some very tight fairways were accuracy is paramount. There are no bunkers on the course, however there are "nature areas" that play as a lateral hazard if hit into. The greens are in very good shape and extremely fast. It was fairly busy but there was a marshal to keep the slower groups in check. The round took just over 4 hours. Only negative is, we only saw the beverage cart once (on 2nd hole). This time of year in Texas, having a beverage cart on the course is a must. Will play here again.

Palmetto Dunes - Arthur Hills

Of the 3 Palmetto Dunes courses this one is the toughest. The course makes you think about next shot with many of the holes having risk/reward options. The tee boxes seemed to need some repair work, but the course is in good shape.

Play there today, greens were some of the worst I've seen in a long time. They need to close the place and get it fixed. They should not have charged me 70 bucks to putt on green painted dirt.

Pinecrest Golf Club

A well designed golf course with forced carries and well placed bunkers. There is some risk/reward shots that can make the course place very difficult. There are some houses on the course but not where you feel that they are on top of you.

The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes

I like to play this course when I am in the Hilton Head area. The pace of play is normally about 4 hours. This course is a great example of South Carolina golf! With its natural wetlands and wildlife makes you forget that you are on a golf course. The course seemed to play longer than the scorecard stated. Overall it is a great course and the price point can not be beat for the quality of the course. Will play here again.

Savannah Harbor

The course is in great shape as it almost always is. Greens are fairly large and in pristine condition. I can not say enough nice things about how great the staff is! Its a great day trip if you are staying on Hilton Head Island. It can be a bit pricey to play during peak season, but I think its worth it.

Course has potential

The course has a great layout and for $25.00 its not bad, if you know what you are getting into. 75% percent of the bunkers are unplayable due to standing water and mud. The greens are extremely bumpy and have multiple types of grass. Tee Boxes and fairways were in decent shape. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
With that being said, CBIGG (course owners) have started working to fix the bunkers and other issues on the course. This course could be great if the greens and bunkers are taken care of.

Top 10

This course is normally in the top 10 hardest courses in Ohio conversation. Pace of play can be an issue at times, but mostly on weekends. Blacklick is part of the parks department, so there is no houses and tons of wildlife. Goose droppings can be an issue on the greens at times but still a great course! This course is a long hitters dream.

West Course

Bear Creek is an easy course to get to, located on the south end of the DFW Airport. The west course is in great shape for this time of year. Greens roll true and are fairly quick. Ninety percent of the bunkers are in great shape, only a few looked in need of sand. The layout of the course itself is somewhat challenging with blind tee shots, elevation changes and dog legs.

The only real negative I have to say is that the restrooms on the course need some work.

Traditions course

Course is in superb shape for being January. Except for 2 greens that are under repair everything looks great. My only complaint is that a GPS unit in the cart would be nice. The course is well marked so making your way from hole to hole is not a problem. Always like playing here.

Old Brickyard

You do not feel like your are in the DFW area on this course. Elevation changes, blind tee shots and tight fairways make this short course somewhat challenging. Sand traps could use a bit of love. I will play here again. Greens are in great shape.

Play here when it is dry.

Played here after a heavy rain, the driving range was closed due to standing water. It was cart path only and still got a round in under 4 hours. With that being said the greens were in great shape. Also I was very impressed to see how many people were out working on the course. I will play this course again after it has a chance to dry out. I would avoid this course after a large rain, due to the fact of how low the area is that the course sits on.

Top Notch

I can't say enough about how great this course is. The course is in pristine condition for this time of year. With all the elevation changes you do not feel like you are in Dallas. The staff is extremely nice and went above and beyond when we told them we had not played the course before. Not being a cowboys fan I wanted to dislike the course, however that is not the case. I would have say that this is the top public course in DFW. Got stuck behind a tournament so the round took a bit longer than I would have liked.

Fast Greens

Course is well maintained and is normally in good shape. When it comes to this courses pace of play, it is feast or famine. If you are behind some of the members it can be a very long day. I really enjoy the course but if you are looking for a quick round you may want to look somewhere else. The fairways are pretty wider than you would expect in a community. A great course!

Riverside

Another great course is managed by Arics golf (formally Eagle golf)! From tee to green the course is in good condition. The staff is very friendly. Number 2 is a Par 5 reachable in 2, even if you are not a long hitter.

Fun course

There is nothing wrong with the course, however it reminds me more of a municipal not a resort. I think that is due to amenities and not the course itself. The course is in great condition. The greens are pristine and sand traps are in top shape. The holes are fairly straight with a few dog legs. The 18th hole a nice finishing hole, reachable in 2 even if you are not a bomber.

DFW must play

Even with signs of the flood still present, The Tribute is a great track. 3 of the greens had dead areas and a few of the fairway bunkers were beat up. The staff is very friendly and the starter is very informative.

A perfect storm of issues?

Having read the reviews I was very excited to play Bridlewood. However after taking 5 hours to play on a Monday I was left with a sour taste. The green were covered with so much sand that you could see your footprints. The fairways had standing water in certain areas and tee boxes were missing markers. The twosome ahead of us said they had never seen the course like this. I understand that it is summer in DFW and its prime season for course maintenance for the fall. On a bright note, the staff there is very friendly and seemed to be very attentive when I told them the issues I had. Perhaps playing this course again the outcome may be different.

Totally worth it

The opening hole's green is in the shape of Texas. The bunker behind the green Oklahoma. So putting from the "pan handle" to the Houston area of the green was interesting. The course itself is in magnificent shape. From tee to green you could not tell it was August in Texas. Greens are very receptive and in superb shape. A couple of par fours are drivable for bombers. I highly recommend this course. Staff is top notch!

Duck Creek

Played in late July. The fairways are in great shape. A couple of greens have a few bare spots. Bombers will have no problem navigating course. Almost every hole has houses, a couple the houses are close enough to factor into club selection off the tee.
