Wow, beautiful views. Great condition of fairways and greens. It is in a subdivision, but the houses are not in play.

Meanders through a sub division, but the house are not that intrusive. Greens and fairways were perfect!

Very flat, easily walkable. Pretty wide open, so would be good for beginners. Staff is extremely friendly. Greens perfect! Fairways good.

Don't get me wrong this is a really nice golf course, just not sure if it compares to the other TPC courses across the nation.

Note: As I understand this course is always cart path only, so if you can walk, plan on it; It's easily walkable.

The driving range is space challenged, and has nets all around, but the putting / chipping greens are fine.

Lots of narrow driving holes, especially on the back. Greens and fairways in excellent condition!

Couple of notes:
Charge a deposit of $3 for a cart fee - no big deal, but odd...
Starter the day I played was having a bad day. He walked over to the putting green and was very rude to the guy next to me who was chipping (no signs saying no chipping here). Thought he could have asked nicely and gotten his point across just as well.
Clubhouse staff could not have been friendlier though...

Great greens, fairways in good shape; A bit of aeration on some of the back nine, but overall good condition. Make sure you look out for the resident fox while you play. He seems to be a course pet, and shows up on several of the holes... :)

The first time I visited Callahan, I said I'd never go back. After all, the first hole is challenged by an unfortunate placement of a power pole; However, on my first trip, I met Mrs. Callahan, and the rest is history. What a nice family owned business!!
The golf course is plenty challenging. (See hole 5...)

Do yourself a favor and go play this course!

Just a beautiful course with spectacular views! Conditions were great!
Downside - expect a long round when you go; It's just a lot of golf course for some, and that slows the pace. They do a great job of trying to keep the pace, so no problems there.

Probably not the most scenic of courses you could play, since it is in essence a subdivision course. (Although the houses don't come into play)
Greens were perfect, but the fairways are still not fully in summer growth.

This course has been called the poor man's Pebble, and it would be more appropriately called:
Bad Muni - Front nine
Great Back nine, similar to PB
It's an old course design, and it is short by today's standards. Again, as I stated, the front is just a regular everyday muni, nothing special at all, even worse than most muni's. Then you get to 11, and you get your money's worth. Lot's of photo ops of the Pacific.

Very good layout. Lots of wildlife to see while you play. Fairways and greens in great shape.
Go play!

As mentioned, it is a bit of a haul to get out there, but when you get there you are surrounded by some beautiful farm land. They did a great job with this property, and it was fun to play. The practice areas are really nice too.
Do yourself a favor and make the trip with your buddies.

Greens perfect, but the fairways are still pretty sparse for this time of year. Lots of bare lies on our day.
This will change with the warm weather...

The course has gone down some since I played it last. I love the layout. Just like all of SCal, it need some water.

If you haven't played here, you should, however, it would certainly help if you have someone with you that has played here. There are quite a few holes that you either can't see where you should hit. If you're by yourself, ride up and take a look.

It has mixed paved and dirt cart paths. Some wierd areas where you park your cart for the next tee shot.

Greens and fairways in good shape. This course has a lot of "target" holes, where you need to position your tee shot to set up your approach.
Candidly, not a lot of personality; I would probably not choose to play here again...

In great shape, really enjoyable to play. 17 is a par 3 island green , and unique.
I can't wait to play again...

OK, let me say the greens were fantastic, and the fairways were better than average. Now here is the rub:
They have all the houses on this SD course blocked from the course. What does this mean? You can hit errant shots and have them bounce back into play.
Weird.
Probably would not recommend this one. Too many other good courses around.
