Best Course in Central Oregon
Friendly staff and beautiful/well maintained course. It's the most beautiful property I've ever been on. Cody in Membership took very good care of our group. Would recommend it to a friend!
Outstanding Customer Care
My friend and his wife were gifted a trip to SunRiver Lodge by the Nonprofit Seeds of Hope due to his cancer diagnosis. I was lucky enough to tag along and I’m writing this review because I’m hoping the three employees in the Pro Shop will be recognized for going above and beyond what I ever expected. My friend’s cancer leaves him mostly exhausted but at times able to engage with his surroundings. He was an avid golfer prior to his diagnosis so my hope was he’d be able to at least ride in a cart while I played the course. I went to the Pro Shop thinking I’d explain the situation and just ask if they’d allow him to ride along and maybe if he felt up to it, play a hole. I spoke to Ellie and explained to her that it was highly unlikely he’d have the stamina to go beyond two holes but I’d be happy to pay his full fee if that was necessary.
Ellie told me that not only would that not be necessary but she would allow us to take the cart directly to our cabin to avoid him having to walk into the lodge. She explained that this way if he gets too tired we can just drop him back off at his room. I thanked her profusely and went back to share with him what SunRiver was offering.
Several hours later he decided he’d love to give it a try so I went back to the Pro Shop to enlist Ellie’s help. When I asked for Ellie, I was told she was off shift but did I happen to be “the guy that needed help for his friend.” It turns out Ellie had left shift but informed her co-workers to ensure I’d be taken care of in her absence. Matt and Frazier were now available to assist me. They provided the cart so I could go pick my friend up, ensured there was water available for him, and went I went back to ask for tape to hold him feeding tube down, sent the whole roll with me (which I’m glad they did because we used it several times).
I cannot express enough my gratitude for Ellie, Matt, & Frazier’s care and thoughtfulness. I have to believe SunRiver not only hires the right people but instills in them the power to assist the customer in whatever they need. My friend played several holes that day and was for a brief moment submersed back in the life he had ‘before.’
Amazing Golf
This is my favorite golf course I have played! The golf course conditions are pristine, and the surroundings make it very special. You cross the Deschutes River on over half the holes with a backdrop of Mount Bachelor and Pulina Peak. The beauty of this course is spectacular, and the golf course design is as good as you will find. Dont be surprised to see wildlife around the course during your round!
Golf Now Suck
GolfNow’s rigid return policy just cost them two great customers. You wouldn’t reschedule, modify or cancel. We are both done with your crap. Good bye and good ridden.
Spectacular views
When we checked in at the clubhouse, they said ‘thank you for playing with us’. The conditions were amazing, the sights beautiful, And the course was unique. While it was not easy, it played fair. Some of the tee boxes just left me in awe. I’ll definitely play crosswaater again.
Haven’t played the course for 20 years. Everythiing that I remembered. Gorgeous setting and layout. Greens were perfect!
Beautiful Outing
Played an early morning round and was first off the tee. The pace of play was naturally great as a result. The course was in perfect condition and scenery around it was amazing. Course feels like it was cut right through the forest and made for an epic experience. I've played a lot of great courses including all the greats of the Monterey and this ranks right up there with them. Reminded me a lot of Spyglass Hill without the ocean holes.
It was a great challenge for former 1 handicap player myself but was very fair and reasonable in difficulty.
Highly recommend playing this course if you're in the area.
Fantastic day in Sunriver
Played at Woodlands golf course in Sunriver. 80 degrees and sunny. No win to speak. Staff were great, even let us start a few minutes early. Course was in great shape. Because of. elevation of about 400 feet had to adjust for distance. Was able to play in 3 hr 45 min. Greens were fast not crazy fast. Beautiful course
One of the best courses one could play
Amazing course with a breathtaking view of the mountains. Very impressed with the course design and up keep. You can tell that the staff takes pride in making sure you have a great experience from start to finish. With out a doubt the best course I have ever played. Bravo Crosswater
Majestic
Great overall experience. Majestic views to go along with with an extraordinary golf course. Very friendly staff.
Amazing course and fun layout. Course was in perfect condition. Highly recommend!
Great Course - Terrible Pace of Play
Wife and I played with a couple of local guy who were very nice. Loved the track (more than Meadows). Great condition. Staff friendly. Our only complaint was pace of play. It was a 5 1/2 hour round. We were behind a group of 30/8 tee times who were more interested in drinking than golfing. There was no effort to speed them up. We were told by one of the staff that they brought enough money that no one was going to hassle them. Great....too bad the rest of us had to pay the price for giving these guys a pass on playing in normal time.
