make sure you call ahead before coming out if booked online
Made a tee time through golf now like I usually do. Get there and find out they are sending an outing out 30 min before my tee time. I think they shouldn't have had it open for tee times then but they still took my money. Was assured it was a nice group that would move quickly. 3 hours for 9 holes along with 6 carts of kids driving around the course every which way selling tickets for the outing plus 4-5 carts of people not playing but with the outing just driving around. I understand that courses have outings but dont take tee times during it very unhappy.
Great layout
Course is really great for the most part it is in great condition except for hundreds of spike marks and divisors to need to be repaired on the greens. Could use Rangers to speed up pace of play
Solid course, fairly challenging
Nice course, about right for the money. Fairly difficult. Wish it was closer to me
Nice Course
Walden Pond is one of the better kept and more challenging courses in Southwest Ohio that is often overlooked. We played it during a weekday and the pace of play was very good and the condition of the course was very good as well.
Walden Ponds
An off-the-radar hidden gem. Great course layout and condition. We were through in 4 hours on a Sunday, it was like we had the course to ourselves.
good variety of holes
no water at the water stations on course on a 90 degree day
Good Shape/Good Value
Great day at Walden Ponds. Got a great on-line deal (< $30) and the course/greens were in good shape.
Good Course/Greens Rough
Overall a good experience, checkin and staff friendly, teed off on time, a major plus! The greens were destroyed though. I realize it's a public course but the greens were not taken care of by players. Unfortunate for a course and greens that were so nice.
Worth getting out for a round
Got a cheap $30 afternoon regular fee before leagues went out. Pace was a bit slow but not terrible. Waited a big at every hole. Course layout was exceptional. This is a short but tough course. If you hit fairways, you'll most likely have a decent chance for birdie, and f you have a little length the par 5s are reachable in 2. Had an eagle opportunity from 15 out but couldn't capitalize. The greens are super fast and fun. Will be returning shortly.
Great Track
Excellent course. Nice layout and the greens were in terrific shape, but could have been a little quicker. We were stuck behind a slow foursome that never got sped up, but overall a really nice day.
Beautiful course in a mature housing development
Walden Ponds is built within a sprawling housing development in Hamilton, Oh. Generally, the houses sit far back from the fairways, so the houses never affect wayward shots.
Greens on this day were slower than most courses of this style, several double tiered greens and false fronts. Fairways, tee boxes were all fully grown in, no bare spots anywhere. A good variety of holes, both in length and depth. The clubhouse is an old 1830s mansion/ plantation type home. I would guess most of the course was within the mansion borders. Overall, an excellent course at a reasonable rate.
Great shape!!!
Course is in great shape tee to green, even the rough.
Greens are somewhat tricky as they're quick but you still have to get he ball to the hole... took a while to figure out but putted true and smooth.
Thunderstorms were lingering around so the load on the course was probably light. We played in less than 3:40!
Driving range, fairways, and greens were all soft and nice! Way better than what we have seen at lesser courses in Indiana and up north of Cinci in Ohio.... WELL WORTH IT! Will recommend and play again!
Nice sunny afternoon
Course was in great shape for the rain we had recently. 90 degree cart rule was in effect. Greens putted true, with public play ball marks were left on the greens, wish everyone would repair not only their own but one it two others, would make better experience for all.
Happy Returns!
My only complaint was the fact that one foursome held up the course for a bit. The entire course is in fantastic shape! Newly remade bunkers and amazing kept greens, plenty of water around the course to add some difficulty to the course.
The staff is warm, friendly, and funny. The 19th hole has good food and an outdoor deck.
I will be back again and again to enjoy this golf experience.
Worth the drive.
Outstanding layout with very challenging holes. The slow pace of play is the only I will consider before going back.
Walden Ponds Review
Great layout and challenging course.
A lot of course for the money
Generous fairways, nice greens. I played on a horribly windy, rainy day and was still able to score. Clubhouse is a stunning old mansion, golf shop staff gets 5 stars.
Favorite course
By far the nicest course I've played
Overpopulation of geese
We have never encountered so much goose feces on a course! Every tee box and green area was loaded with it.
Otherwise, course has nice wide fairways and a nice layout.
Winter Golfing.
For the 30th of January the course was in good shape. I always have a good time at Walden Ponds.
