The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
About
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes sits along the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades, surrounded by live oaks, towering pines, and palmettos. Two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman designed the golf course. He and his team focused on preserving the area's natural beauty and ecosystem. The ponds, wetlands, and mature trees were carefully protected and incorporated into the challenges of the design. The final result blends in so seamlessly it's as though the golf course had been there all along. Norman's commitment to the environment was recognized with the course's certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The player-friendly layout has wide fairways and generous landing areas but the subtly contoured greens and strategically placed hazards will keep you on your toes. Five sets of tees make the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes even more accessible to players of any skill level.

Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Course was ready for PNC father son tournament
Best part was the greens. They rolled fast and true, fastest I have played on in a long time. Practice green was great in prepping for them. It was cart path only due to upcoming tournament.
This course was in PGA condition
The Father and Son PGA Tournament will be played next week, so the the course was in the best condition of a Golf course I have ever played in my life. I was happy to see them rolling the Greens when I got there. They were atleast a 12 on the stemp meter. I shot 83. I would play this course any chance I got. If I lived here. Golfnow is the best with there deals for this course.
Wonderful!
Got a great deal on golf now! Nice course and beautiful. Challenging yet player friendly for the ladies.
Walk this course with a caddy, ask for Jim
My friend and I walked with a caddy, started at 730am, finished about 11:30am. Never saw another group in front of us or behind us. They apparently space the tee times so you won't be waiting on every shot. Jim, the caddy, was excellent so be sure to ask for him. The greens were pristine and fairways, tee boxes, etc were all in excellent shape. Apparently the greens fees go up to about $300 in the high season (Dec - april or so). We paid $150 plus the caddy fee, and tipped him well of course. Definitely a steal for such a great course and service. Food was very good after the round as well.
Pricey but still good value.Excellent condition.
Only complaint was they were getting the course ready to play the father/son tournament and a number of holes were cart path only. This is a big course so it gets annoying after a while, but understandable.
WOW
The course was in amazing shape, Although open off the tee, I simply loved the routiing.
There are no Man Made structures, other than cart path, that come into play on the course.
My only complaint is that the sand in the practice bunker was very thin compared to the fluffy sand out on the course.
Good playable golf course.
Played here with a golf now hot deal. Very nice course with good driving range, friendly staff, although pace of play was a little slow.New GPS system on the carts could be better as they only give you distances to greens and not hazards. Would recommend course.
Pretty good course, great practice facilities, friendly staff
It was a good value for what I paid, $40. Course was pretty straight forward, a couple fun holes, but nothing special. Greens were in pretty good shape put somewhat inconsistent. I would never pay the course price of $150. There are some better courses in the area that I have played, but this was a good experience for $40. And they have free parking for golfers. I would definitely return for $40.
Player friendly course in great conditions
We played Grande Lakes second times in two years on our annual Orlando golf trip. The course was in just as good conditions as we played in 2012. The course is very playable for beginners to skilled golfers. Highly recommended.
Deserves "Women Friendly" status in Golf Digest Survey
Course played challenging for both men and women. Especially "woman friendly"! Walked with caddie in under 4 hrs. Very enjoyable! Worth saving a few dollars for to play again.
Staff very friendly and helpful.course good but I expected better.
When we arrived our tee time was mixed up but the staff quickly got us a tee time. The course was in good condition but I expected more. Lots of water but does not come in to play that often, but still enjoyed the day.
Excellent resort course.
Received a last minute value at 1/3 the normal Golf Now rate. Greg Norman design to keep vacationers and conventioneers happy. If you can get a last minute deal, you must play. Staff is very accommodating. Course is straight forward and in excellent shape.
Great Florida course with sand and water
Enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. Well maintain course.
Another great experience, very fast greens
I played the course after one year and it was at least the same good! Staff is super friendly, training facilities excellent, course very well maintained and this time just incredible fast greens.
Overall there is by far nothing to complain – it is just a top place and thanks to golfnow.com we had a superb deal.
'Puttin on the RITZ'
I didn't need a top hat and tails but I could have used a better game to enjoy the finest golf experience in Central Florida. Playing the Ritz Carlton Golf Club Orlando at Grande Lakes is like no other. The Greg Norman Signature course is set within the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades right here in Orlando. Who Knew? The 'Shark' and his design team took extraordinary care to preserve the property's well balanced ecosystem. The 7122 yard layout garnished a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status and was named the National Resort Course winner in 2012 in the Environmental Leaders in Golf. The service is second to none. The gentlemen at the bag drop, the pro shop and the starter can not do enough to insure a perfect day no matter your ability. They are there to please and they do it with panache. The golf course has large generous fairways bordered by an army of bunkers, five sets of tees, tightly cut fairways, and a rough that is easy to play from. The immaculate greens are perfectly contoured and as true as any PGA Tour stop. The routing takes you through a forest of scrub pines, indigenous plantings and natural beauty. The Ritz and J.W. Marriott Resort complex are mostly hidden until you
start your way back home around #16. My playing partner was from Aberdeen, Scotland and he could not get over the sheer
spectacle of the design with a 73.9 and 139 ratings. If you want to enjoy the best round of golf in Central Florida you need to GO PLAY the RITZ!
Excellent condition, fast greens and very nice staff.
The course is in terrific shape and the greens are running fast. The pace of play is average. Able to pair up with a nice elderly gentleman from Boston who loves the RedSox and Patriots. Only complaint is the dated GPS and I was expecting a more modern unit given the price of the green fees and the high standard of the golf course. Would definitely come back. Able to get a good deal on some merchandise at the clubhouse.
Top course
This is the best condition course I have ever played
Depends what price you pay get a hot deal on golf now and its a no brainer
Top class everything I can not find a fault
A course to be left to out of town suckers
The course is fairly well designed and, for the attractions area, fairly secluded. Everything but the greens were in great shape. From checking previous reviews, I saw that they aerated the greens almost 2 months ago. They still look terrible! The ball rolls pretty well, but the greens are about 6 different shades of green and tan. Too much brown, so it made reading them almost impossible. If I paid the $120 regular price, I would have left the first green & driven back to the pro shop for a refund. Pro shop guy was friendly, cart guys/starter were indifferent. $30 6-pack of bud light & $20 double vodka for my buddy are straight tourist prices!!!!
Excellent day!
Well worth the money and a very challenging course.
