The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
About
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes sits along the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades, surrounded by live oaks, towering pines, and palmettos. Two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman designed the golf course. He and his team focused on preserving the area's natural beauty and ecosystem. The ponds, wetlands, and mature trees were carefully protected and incorporated into the challenges of the design. The final result blends in so seamlessly it's as though the golf course had been there all along. Norman's commitment to the environment was recognized with the course's certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The player-friendly layout has wide fairways and generous landing areas but the subtly contoured greens and strategically placed hazards will keep you on your toes. Five sets of tees make the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes even more accessible to players of any skill level.

Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Greens and fairways haad been cored.carts on path only. No mention of any of this on booking!!!
Good course spoilt by the conditions. Staff were really helpful.
Course is in great shape
The course was pretty much in perfect condition. The greens were firm and fast especially down grain. The staff was friendly and helpful. Free range balls with a nice practice area. Free bottled water available on the course. I did not use a caddie. My only complaint was that the text only GPS was off by 5 to 10 yards when compared to marked sprinkler heads.
fast greens, very nice fairways, course in great shape
this is a very beautiful course. greens are very fast and roll very well. fairways are very well maintained. nice practice facility. the putting green has lots of ants which was bothersome. great value with golfnow's hot deal. will come back to play again. the golf cart has a small GPS that only gives 3 numbers: front, middle, and back, and this seems cheap when putting the GPS quality and Ritz Carlton's brand together.
Great experience
Your experience starts off great just driving up to the wonderfully manicured landscape and seeing the Ritz and the J.W Marriott hotels looming high in the sky. The pro shop staff is very nice and accommodating and will tell you where everything is. Range balls on the range and great putting and chilling areas. The course is beautiful going through the local landscape. The fairways are very wide and generous so you can really get after it and there are five different tees to choose from for a challenge or a relaxing time. Bunkers are strategically placed and the greens will reward you or eat you alive, but they are so good you can't complain if you miss a putt. Water bottles and some refreshing towels are on your carts. Make sure you tell the "concierge" on the course if it's your first time out and they'll do something for you that will make you always remember this great course and great experience
Spectacular!
Beautiful course in outstanding condition. Super fast but true greens. Fairways in perfect condition but ample space for the high handicapper not to slow pace of play. Wildlife surrounding the area is amazing. Jonathon and Ryan in the Pro Shop delivered excellent customer service and made our outing that much better.
Course is expensive unless you are playing on a golf package with the hotel or find a deal on GolfNow.com. We had a single join us that paid 33% of the course rate booked through GolfNow.com
Just immaculate
The levels of service and condition of the course were both as perfect as you could ever want. We had a 7.10am t time so the course was playing wet but the greens and bunkers were still perfect. The greens held the ball well but were still rolling at about an 11.
They have made the most of the piece of land and the routing is relatively interesting but the course itself just lacks in design compared to some of the other Orlando big names.
There is too much room of the t which means you are not forced into strategic plays. The greens are huge but so are the run-offs which means that bad shots aren't properly punished and there is little definition when you are stood on the fairway.
I would put the course design behind the Waldorf Astoria, Grand Pines and Shingle Creek but the condition makes up a lot of ground.
The course was in excellent shape and the greens were running around 12, hard and fast with undulations making for difficult reads and speeds,
The course was generous in the fairways, the greens,as is common with a Greg Norman design, were difficult. This course plays extreme from 100 yards and in, especially on the greens.
Challenging is a very good description of this course. We would play it again as it grows on you and makes you play better, no gimme's here.
Great Resort Course
The Greens rolled true & fast, bunkers prestine raked & consistant. Course can be very challanging to the low handicapper from selected tees but open for play for all with other tees, with abundant water and bunker placement.
Cart supplied GPS only had green front, middle and back yardage so bring some kind of rangefinder or personnel GPS.
Forecaddies are available.
No outstanding memorable individual holes that would be considered signature for a course of this $$.
Good value for under $100.00, if you can get that rate.
Must play!
The best course in the Orlando Attractions area! Conditions and difficulty blow any Disney course away. Free bottled water throughout the course provide bonus points.
top notch in every way - not to be missed
a real treat; absolutely pristine conditioning (greens were the best - fast, smooth, firm). fairways were immaculate and better than some greens on other courses!
decent hole variety, beautiful layout w wetlands and lakes and abundant wildlife. add to all of this a very attentive and friendly staff and you get a great round of golf.
and, if you've got the extra coin after collecting your bets (!), enjoy the food in clubhouse - amazing!
Lovely course with tricky greens
The fairways are open any very well maintained. The arroach shots should be precise otherwsie the ball roll off the greens. All greens requries all your full attention.
Best Course in Central Florida
What a golf experience. Majestic golf outing from the facility to the staff. Cant miss golf outing
awsome value @75% off!
Second best course as far as condtion very played. Second only to The Honors Course just north of Chattanooga. Greens were perfect!
Great practice time and amenities.
Greens were quick and playing surfaces were fantastic. At arrival, staff allowed one of our players to try out a new TaylorMade hybrid club during the round for free. Some blind shots but an enjoyable time for all.
nice course
The day before that we played had heavy rain.So course was very wet.Green & fairway were well maintained. Not so difficult course.Overall nice course
This course is in Great condition! A must play!
I was staying at the JW Marriott and our room overlooked the 18th hole. I asked if there were any openings for that day and found that they were booked. I was instead sent to another course and was so disappointed. the player I was grouped up with said that he got his tee time from GolfNow.com for a third of the cost of what I had paid. I checked online and there were times available at the Ritz for the following Thursday and I couldn't have been more happy. I played from the gold tees which were almost the tips and every hole was perfect!
Greens were very true and even the sand were very good. I would play this course in a minute....again.
Nice, Typical Florida style course
Great condition all around. Since it's part of a high-end hotel it's a little expensive for a "normal layout" Florida golf course. Go if you get a deal.
Thought it would be better
Had a bargain from golf now ,but if I had paid good money I would have been very disappointed .bunkers where in a terrible state had certainly not been raked by staff on that day ,if they couldn't be bothered to rake them maybe they should have made them g u r staff were very friendly, some nice touches name tag, refreshing towels free bottled water But back to the bunkers they where a disgrace
not overly tough but long.
excellent experience, pristine conditions except for the traps, but I'm sure the hard rain was to blame for that. The price was ok and I would pay that again but not on a regular basis. The staff was the best of any course I've played.
OUTSTANDING!
Got a phenomenal deal on GN.com. Course was in great shape, greens were impeccable. Also, went with the caddie service. This was well worth the money too.
