The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
About
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes sits along the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades, surrounded by live oaks, towering pines, and palmettos. Two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman designed the golf course. He and his team focused on preserving the area's natural beauty and ecosystem. The ponds, wetlands, and mature trees were carefully protected and incorporated into the challenges of the design. The final result blends in so seamlessly it's as though the golf course had been there all along. Norman's commitment to the environment was recognized with the course's certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The player-friendly layout has wide fairways and generous landing areas but the subtly contoured greens and strategically placed hazards will keep you on your toes. Five sets of tees make the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes even more accessible to players of any skill level.

Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Best golf experience overall.
My husband & I played this course early in the morning and had the course to ourselves, so our round was less than 4 hours. We were able to get out earlier than our scheduled tee time. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were excellent. The bunkers were perfect to get out of. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We played 8 other courses in Orlando and this course was by far the best. I definitely would play this course again.
Nice course in good condition
The course was set up nicely , and maintained.
Greens were firm and quick.
I thought the starter should have paired twosomes for better pace of play.
My best golfing experience in years.
I was not prepared for what was awaiting me at the Ritz Carlton Golf course. I expected a nice course but this track is the best conditioned and most playable I have played in several years. If you play from the correct tees, you will find this course very enjoyable and rewarding while also being a good test of your golfing skills. The fairways are generous but the greens are well protected requiring precise approach shots to facilitate birdie chances. The greens were magnificent and quite fast (11 seconds per the pro shop) and all putts rolled true. Saw all kinds of Florida wildlife from including alligator and snake to wading birds and even a hawk.
On the front nine an employee brought out delicious white chocolate truffles for the foursome (shaped like half a golf ball) and on the back nine the same gentleman came back to present us with personally engraved Ritz-Carlton bag tags. I have never been treated this well on a course before. This same fellow raked the trap for me after I hit my sand shot. Just amazing service. I birdied the long par 5 18th hole to make it a perfect ending to a wonderful day.
Treat yourself to a luxurious golf experience and play this course. You won't regret it.
Golf as it should be, not a home in sight.
You feel quite rural when playing this course, yet you are very close to 2 busy roads but would never realize it. Course is a great layout.
Top class
This is as good as it gets ,If you like fast greens this is the place for you. Get there early to take advantage of the practice facilities .this is one of the best courses I have ever played it is really fantastic.
Best course in Orlando
If you like pristine conditions in a very serene setting, you will love this course. Very challenging, but fair. Fast greens
True championship course
Having watched the Father Son Challenge it was a thrill to play this course albiet slightly further forward. Putting surfaces were consistent and tough but fair. Get there early, the practice facilities are excellent.
Course in great shape...greens quick!
Started out with slow pace due to play. Picked up and was very delightful. The greens were very quick and enjoyed the layout. Staff was very friendly, helpful and engaging to the partons!
Great if you can get it for a good price.
I got a great deal through golf now so was super happy with the course. Great condition and if you are staying in the ritz or jw marriott, really convenient. The staff were great and i thought the course was beautiful and a really good layout for a resort course. 200 is a bit much for me to pay, but if you get a good deal, this is a must play.
Great staff and service, slow play
We had a great welcome and the staff were really helpful and genuinely wanted to provide a good experience, from delivery of grill food to the range to helpful starters. The course is nice but there is no real hole you could say was beyond ordinary. Condition was good, greens true, but worth 195 dollars rack per player - no (we had a'hot' deal fortunately, via golfnow.com).The pace of play was slow, typical resort course stuff, something I hate, especially as we were a two ball. The group in front were super slow and kept us waiting ages on every hole, despite a 2 hole gap in front of them. After being soaked with rain on the last few holes as well it made for a less than satisfactory experience and we drove in from 16.
i'll be back
Challenging, but fair, this course was a pleasant surprise. The golf course was in outstanding condition and the practice facility is excellent. While the golf carts have GPS, some local knowledge is needed on a few holes where carry distances are deceiving. Plenty of bunkers and water, but fairly positioned. Generous off the tee, but demanding 2and/approach,shots. So, play from reasonable tees. Very nice club house and pro shop, and the staff was accommodating. Great price on GolfNow.com! Will definitely play this one again!
Cheap GPS No water or ball washing stations on course
Cheap GPS No water or ball washing stations on course
A very good golf course!
This is a very good course although the greens fees are pretty pricey in the Central Florida Market.
Unfriendly staff at clubhouse, 18 holes took over 5h
Too expensive for quality of course and carts.
No map on scorecard.
No marshall on course to push slow players.
Great course. PGA TOUR quality
If you enjoy high - end quality golf, this is the place. Immaculate conditions with fast greens. I'll be back. JJ
Great course but pricey
My friend and I had fun playing this course on our 4 day golf get-away. It was the most expensive course we played, but was in great shape. Play was slow because we were behind an outing with 5 or 6 foursomes- all women. Had to wait on every hole to tee off and couldn't play through. Greens were the best of any we played that trip. Even after experiencing a downpour of rain on #15, we were able to finish the round because the greens drained nicely. Overall, we were pleased but would have been nice to play at normal speed.
Expensive but good.
Course was in great shape especially the greens. The course is overpriced compared to others nearby that are as good. No hole maps and rudimentary GPS.
Nice course but try to get you to pay for caddy.
Course was in excellent condition, but has no course map or yardage book, so they try to force a caddy on you. Without the yardage book it is almost unplayable since there are blind driving holes and no way to tell yardage to hidden hazards. Either give us the option of a yardage book or include caddy in extremely high price.
Great course
This is a fun track that was challenging due to the speed of the greens and pin placements. The condition of the course is second to none. We played for $125 which is a decent value. I am not a big fan of paying more for a round of golf. Would definitely do it again.
Typical Resort
If your looking for a fun course, look again. Flat fairways, flat greens, little water in play.
