The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
About
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes sits along the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades, surrounded by live oaks, towering pines, and palmettos. Two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman designed the golf course. He and his team focused on preserving the area's natural beauty and ecosystem. The ponds, wetlands, and mature trees were carefully protected and incorporated into the challenges of the design. The final result blends in so seamlessly it's as though the golf course had been there all along. Norman's commitment to the environment was recognized with the course's certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The player-friendly layout has wide fairways and generous landing areas but the subtly contoured greens and strategically placed hazards will keep you on your toes. Five sets of tees make the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes even more accessible to players of any skill level.

Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Ritz needs to upgrade from the '80s.
Pros: nice layout, frequent cart person visits.
Cons: a numeric GPS/pager system from the '80s and no course map even on back of scorecard leaves you clueless out there. Come on, even the cheapest 'value' courses in FL have video GPS in the carts. Silly hard and fast greens but claimed recent cross cut. Hit and miss with staff. Fairways conditions well below expectations.
AWESOME!
Caught a great GOLFNOW rate of $19 rate and decided I could finally afford to try this course out. Normal rates are anywhere from $50 - $125 a round, depending on the season. Everything about this place is great. Staff, course, layout, conditions. Worth every penny I paid ($19.00) and is a must play if you can afford the greens fees. Not sure it is worth $150, as I am not sure ANY course is worth playing for that amount.
Perfect condition
Greens roll true and the course is in excellent shape.
This course is well worth the money, and the staff is friendly and professional.
Good course for all levels
Course was in very good condition. Greens were smooth and consistent. Very playable for all levels. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The course, the facility, the practice area were immaculate. I will absolutely play here again.
The layout of this course offers several Tee boxes and provides an interesting change of yardages from the forward Tees. I would like to see the course from the Tips next time I play. The best greens in Orlando are at The Ritz.
Outstanding from start to finish
the initial welcome, the entire staff, the range, the course, the greens....just could not have been any better; i wish they could pass on their standards to every other course in Orlando....they just nailed it on every level. WIDE fairways make it fun off the tee but you better buckle down on your approach shots....greens were ROLLING fast and true, bunkers cut to perfection, fairways were money, tee boxes big and flat/even, manager even came around to "see how we were enjoying the course"? what? then went and made us personalized NICE bag tags engraved with our name??? who does that? i will be back again and again...early tee time on Golfnow was $50 on monday, easily worth double that.
Beautiful resort course
Great course. Greens were great and true. Setting is outstanding and staff is incredible. Can't wait to play it again.
Great Day
The Ritz is a must play in the Orlando area. I highly recommend this golf course to anyone!!
Impeccable service on a beautiful course
I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable at the course from the start. Get there early and make the most of the practice facilities which are brilliant and very similar to the on course conditions. The course it self is between moderate and challenging, the speed of play when I played was rather slow, but 4 balls were quite happy to let me play through. I enjoyed every hole on the course which presented a unique shot making opportunity if you dare, or a straight forward shot to keep it safe.
Greens were outstanding
Great course greens were excellent a joy to play I will be back!
Excellent facility...top to bottom.
A lady friendly course with beautiful layout, fast greens and wide fairways...for the most part. The scented towels and bottled water were very much appreciated as temps reached 94 degrees. The guys in our foresome were in golf heaven too!
Great Layout & Excellent staff.
I always enjoy playing here, I was able to get off the front by myself. Got through the front in a little over an hour. Course was in nice shape, greens were FAST FAST FAST but still more then playable. Staff is always friendly, and constantly drove around checking up on me bringing more waters etc. Also saw the cart girl multiple times that day which kept food in me. Once I got on the back pace got EXTREMELY slow, had a cpl 4 somes of what had to be beginners. I think the back played almost 3 hours. And by that time it was extremely hot out. Look forward to playing again in the fall.
Nice course, easy and wide open.
This is a very nice course if you want to develop confidence in your game. It is wide open and easy with no forced carries, plenty of bailout areas, and no water or out of bounds to destroy your round in a couple of holes.
Great coral sand bunkers, tees and greens.
I would play it always one tee back from where I usually play so as to add some challenge
Great deal.
I sprayed from the tees and still had a lot of fun. For the duffer like me, it's important to forget about the score and this course I could enjoy to hit from everywhere. Thanks.
Will not return
Overpriced. Slow pace of play. Average conditions.
Far from prinstine
Tees and greens are in good shape. The fairway grass is fairly long, and the bunkers are simply a disaster. Yes, we have had a lot of rain in Orlando, but the bunkers are like cement, haven't been raked out in weeks. Pretty much ruined the round, such a shame.
Ritz Carlton needs some attention
Played this Greg Norman designed course on a hot morning after it had rained for a few days in Orlando. Friendly staff, as to be expected at a Ritz property, with the exception of the desk attendant who must have been having a bad day. Course was in fair condition, you could tell that they had been unable to mow due to rainy weather. A few holes were cart path only. Some rough areas off of the fairways and between holes needs attention, as well as the locker room area which was not very tidy and unorganized. Overall, I like the Waldorf Astoria course and facility better.
first bad experience at the Ritz.
Staff was great however, we would have like to know before hand that the course was cart path only and that the bunkers would not be raked. This was the second time this sumer that I played the ritz and the bunkers where not maintained ( I know its summer and it rains everyday, but c'ome the ritz should have staff to deal with it, esp. on a saturday morning). Also, we had an afternoon tee time b/c of an am shotgun so after waiting for a cart we where started in the back like twenty minutes later, again no big deal. Our problem however, was once we made the turn it became very slow b/c of the 2 groups on the first tee which we had to wait on for the remainder of the round. This problem could have been easily solved if the starter was still there or the pro-shop made room for us making the turn. I really hate complaining, I dont think I will be taking my clients to play here anytime soon.
Fun and challenging
Thank you Golfnow and the staff! Everyone was awesome! The course still was in great shape even after airriation. The greens still played true. I enjoyed playing this course to the fullest. People, if you ever have the chance to play here, by all means PLAY IT! Well worth the discount. Thanks again to the staff. You all were excellent.

Nice layout fun course.
Wasnt happy that however is responsible for promoting the ad, did not indulge the fact that the whole course was punhed and dressed until after I booked the tee time.
