Poor shape
Over booked. Not a well taken care of course need a lot of improvement. We were hitting off dirt most of the day. Staff were very nice. Could not pay with cash???
Disapointed
This club was recommended to us by 2 other couples..said it was worth the money.. We were not blown away with it.. There are other clubs in the area which offer the same quality as St. Peter's.., at a better price. My opinion.
Nice
Course in good shape. I was a single put with 3 others very nice guys. Had fun on this challenging course. Give it a try I doubt you will be disappointed.
A Classy Golf Course
St. Petersburg CC is an old fashioned golf course that is a challenge to play. Always in great shape, the greens are quick, but true. The staff is very friendly. Great practice facilities. This place is a winner...put it on your list to play.
Golf Now Issue
When we arrived at the course, we were billed 126.26. I produced the GolfNow receipt indicating that we were to pay 104.86. The pro shop indicated that this was a Golf Now issue and so I paid the 126.26 so we could play. I subsequently tried to contact Golf Now, but to no avail and so I tried an email and got no response as of this writing so unfortunately am posting it here. We booked again this week through Golf Now and our tee time was not on their tee sheet. They said they cancelled Wednesdays for Golf Now. They did fit us in, and we enjoyed a nice round of golf. This is an excellent golf course in excellent condition. The round includes a golf cart, practice facility and very (VERY) fast greens that are very demanding - stay below the hole is a must.
Great Conditon
The greens were very fast and true. The course was in great condition. We booked for 49.99 on Golf Now, but were charged 59.99 when arrived at course, contacted Golf Now and no response yet. This is an excellent golf course and in great conditon. The par 4’s are very strong, the par 3’s are varied and challenging and require an iron shot - so not unrealistic. the Par 5’s are a good test and challenge even the longer ball hitters due to the challenging greens and strategic position of the traps and water, where applicable. Course knowledge is important here, as it is critical to place the ball in the proper position on the greens, due to speed and contours. I am a single digit senior golfer and enjoy this course from the white tees now, as my distance is not what it used to be, but I use every club in the bag. The back tees will challenge any level of golfer. Regarding the forward tees, this course has placed them in consideration of creating a positive experience for beginners and shorter hitters than any golf course I have played - very thoughtful. Since it is a private golf club, it is not unusual that they haven’t paired us up with anyone else, but the pace of play has been reasonable, despitee this.
Probably great in its day
“Old Florida” for sure; bet it was great in its day. Course played fast, good layout and challenging. It’s still winter, but the course was not in good shape at all: tee boxes were a joke and the greens in horrible shape. Feels like funding/budget issues here. Our first and last round at this historic club which is too bad.
Really enjoyed this course it was in very good shape especially the greens . We played in 4 hrs so pace of play was excellent. It is a old course but still stands up to a good test with the back tees playing around 6800yards. Traps could stand to be upgrading
Very disappointed
Payed $60 to play this course on golfnow. Way way to much to pay for this “private course”??!! I have played several courses in the area and this has been the worst I’ve played. Greens were fast and rolled nice but that’s all I have nice to say. Will never play there again.
Postage stamp greens that play true.
This was a fun little course. It’s over 90 years old.
Great Course
For the money I don't think it gets much better. I always enjoy SPCC.
