Red Tail Golf Club
About
Red Tail Golf Club in Devens, Massachusetts sprawls across wooded hills, weaving through numerous streams and ponds. It is the first course in New England to be certified as an Audubon International Cooperative Signature. Golfers can enjoy spectacular views from every hole. Named after the Red Tail Hawks that soar above the golf course, the landscape offers classic New England golf with maple trees, birches, oaks, and pines. There are also tall grasses and sand along the fairways and greens, providing a few elements of coastal courses. The Red Tail layout offers a great amount of variety thanks to the diverse landscape. There is an interesting mix of risk-reward opportunities and link-style touches throughout the course. It is no surprise that this scenic and challenging course is one of the most popular public golf courses in Massachusetts.

Signs of course condition improvement abound, like the sod cutouts here on the par-5 2nd. Photo submitted by Back9Ben on 05/03/2021

this course has great layout
round of golf comes with range balls to practice-love that. the course has great scenery and a great layout. the fairways and greens were in great shape. the course was challenging enough but not overwhelming. would love to play there again, it is a must play course for any golfer.
Geat fun and a challenge
Terrific place to play, would highly recommend it.
Great course, challenging layout!
Great layout! One of the better courses in central Mass. Definitely need to play it a few times to know where NOT to hit it, but conditions wise it in great shape. Staff was friendly!
Nice course!
Very nice course with a very interesting layout. The conditions were good. The pace of play was surprisingly good for a Sunday afternoon tee time.
worth the effort
One of the best public tracks in the state. Worth the money and drive from the Boston area. A good variety of holes, lots of elevation change, plenty of options for both heroic and prudent play.
Great High end public golf course!
First time playing Red Tail. I think Im in love. Really like the layout. Very interesting. Didnt get bored. Hard holes, easy holes. Good shape. Greens were good. True and pretty fast. Would definitly play here again, if I could afford it.
