The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes
About
The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes sits along the pristine headwaters of the Florida Everglades, surrounded by live oaks, towering pines, and palmettos. Two-time British Open Champion Greg Norman designed the golf course. He and his team focused on preserving the area's natural beauty and ecosystem. The ponds, wetlands, and mature trees were carefully protected and incorporated into the challenges of the design. The final result blends in so seamlessly it's as though the golf course had been there all along. Norman's commitment to the environment was recognized with the course's certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The player-friendly layout has wide fairways and generous landing areas but the subtly contoured greens and strategically placed hazards will keep you on your toes. Five sets of tees make the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes even more accessible to players of any skill level.

Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Excellent Greens
Fairways were perfect, rough was tough but fair. Greens were actually aerated 2 days before we played and they were still good, rolled extremely true even being punched. Fantastic layout and would most definitely play here again.
GREAT DESIGN BY GREG NORMAN
ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT WOULD BE THAT THE GREENKEEPER HAD A BAD DAY AT THE OFFICE. THE PINS ON THE FRONT NINE WERE ALL ON MASSIVE SLOPES. BUT OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND PLAYING THERE
Pete
Course was in outstanding condition and a pleasure to play. The greens are fast for the average player so I would recommend slowing them down a bit. It really took the fun out of the round .
Gem of a course
This is what resort golf is meant to be. Everything was perfectly manicured and presented. A relatively tough course but well worth the experience.
Tournament level conditions
Fantastic course worthy of the Ritz Carlton name. Greens were exceptionally true rolling and relatively quick. Cart GPS was very basic, providing yardage numbers but no graphics. Landing areas are ample but the green complexes require real strategy if you want to hit the greens in regulation. If you can snag a good rate on GolfNow, it's well worth the money.
First Class
Beautiful course and surroundings. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Fairways immaculate & a nice pace on the large challenging greens.
If you stay there play it
Very nice course that's in fantastic condition from the tee boxes to the lush fairways to the flawless greens. If you stay at the JW Marriott or the Ritz Carlton you must play it, or even if you live close, it's most definitely worth the trip
Solid Golf course
I played with some higher handicappers and they really seem to struggle off the tee boxes as they have some challenging tee shots. Many of the holes have some kind of hazard directly in front of the tee box. So if you are a worm burner and can't carry the Tee ball very far (over 50 yards) you will struggle on this course.
Bring your short game!
I really think the course lacks that awe moment when looking at each hole.
Nice resort course
RC resort course plays fast compared to other resort courses. Greens are extremely fast and tend to roll true in the morning. With guest play greens can get bumpy in the afternoon. Golf facility is first rate with excellent practice facilities. Good idea to use a caddy around the course as they are great for reading correct yardages and greens. The only disappointment was the 19th hole restaurant and bar. Seems to be more closed than open. Really odd hours of operation. Plus very expensive for non resort guests.
First timer
This was my first time playing this course and it will not be my last! The course was in great condition, fast greens and lush fairways. It has its challenges for sure, but is very fair to the average golfer. There is plenty of water but the fairways are wide enough that you have ample margin for error on most holes.
Great deal on Golfnow
The sand traps were hard and in need of sand but other than that the course was great. Staff very friendly. Food at the restaurant was very good.
Really. Great Course
Beautiful course...nice wide fairways but strategically placed bunkers add challenge.
Évaluation du terrain
Ce terrain est très bien entretenu. C'est un excellent terrain, mais le prix est exagéré en comparaison avec d'autres très bons terrains qui ne coûtent que la moitié de celui-ci.
Tertre de départ 9/19
Fairways 10/19
Greens 9.5/10
One of the Best
This is absolutely one of the best golf courses in central Florida. I golfed the Waldorf Astoria two months ago, and I like this one better. Fairways and greens are beautifully maintained, greens running very fast. It's a nice layout with an interesting design. It was not easy playing this course for the first time in a wind of 20 mph or more.
Amazing afternoon
I skipped out of. a conference to play a little golf. I played this course several years ago and when I saw a great deal for it on golf now I grabbed it. The course was beautiful and in great shape the staff were fabulous and called me by name. I would definitely recommend this course and will play it again next time I am in Orlando.
Absolutely gorgeous course
This course is like the PGA tour -- greens are very fast and true. Fairways are near perfect -- seriously exceptional in every way.
Great course
From the very beginning , all out great customer service, the courtesy and the sheer luxury - puts this course class apart.
Also does not play like any typical resort course - this one was fairly challenging
Great course
Really nice course to play. Fair but with enough of a challenge. Greens were great and very quick.
Staff were very helpful, a real 5 star experience
Another Great Experience
Ritz-Carlton Golf Club never disappoints and I had another outstanding golf adventure. Thank you staff for making my one round this time down to Orlando a joy
Great Course To Play
Course was in fantastic condition. Greens were really fast and very true. Even sanded in early am, they dried out by mid am. Only thing that was not enjoyable was the cart path only rule and the GPS was of no use because of that. when you have GPS unless you were right near the cart path, the yardages were hard to gauge. Due to that, not that fun based on the amount of money to play it. Greens are tough, with lots of run offs so challenging! Staff were excellent, beautiful settings.
